Self-drive Safari | 9 nights / 10 days

Day 1: Arrival at the Maun airport

Upon arrival at the Maun Airport you will collect your rental vehicle and drive to the Thamalakane Lodge. The lodge is placed on the banks of the Thamalakane River and en-route to the famous Moremi Game Reserve. Here you will be able to enjoy a beautiful sunset, while relaxing on your private patio. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Overnight: Thamalakane River Lodge including breakfast

Days 2 & 3: Moremi National Park

Depart the lodge and drive to the Moremi National Park. The camp is located on the Western side of Moremi Game Reserve along the off stream of Moanachira River. These two days you have the opportunity to explore the Moremi National Park in your own rental vehicle or as an alternative join one of the offered activities (at own expense), such as boat cruises and game drives.

Overnight: Third Bridge (Camping)

Days 4 & 5: Moremi National Park

Another two days spent in the Moremi National Park. The Game Reserve, although not one of the largest Parks, presents insights and views even for the most experienced of travellers. Home to nearly 500 species of bird (from water birds to forest dwellers) and a vast array of other species of wildlife, including buffalo, giraffe, lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, jackal, impala, and red lechwe. Here you will spend another two nights inside the park.

Days 6 & 7: Savuti Channel

Leave the Moremi National Park behind you and head for the Savuti Channel. Savuti, frequently described as one of the best wildlife viewing areas in Botswana, is approx. 5,000 km² and is located in the south west corner of the Chobe National Park. It is also an area that is described as enigmatic with one of it great baffles being the Savuti Channel. Due to the channel having dried up over the past few years, Savuti is now vast open grassland with granite hills bordered by acacia and Mopane forest.

Days 8 & 9: Chobe National Park

Continue to the Chobe Safari Lodge where you’ll be staying the next two nights. This area is known as the meeting point of the four countries, Namibia, Zambia, Botswana and Zimbabwe which makes the lodge a perfect gateway to the surrounding attractions. The Chobe National Park close by boasts the largest concentration of elephants in Africa. Game drives and boat cruises offer visitors the opportunity to witness this amazing spectacle (at own cost).

Day 10: Depart

Today you will head to the Kasane airport in time for your home- or onwards flight. This tour ends here.
