Day 1: Arrival in Windhoek and Olive Grove Guesthouse

Upon arrival at the Hosea Kutako International Airport you will pick up your rental vehicle and drive the +-40km to Windhoek. Check in at the Olive Grove Guesthouse and the rest of the day is at your own leisure. You have time to explore Windhoek and visit the famous landmarks of Windhoek or shop in the vibrant Independence Avenue.

Day 2: The Kalahri Desert and Kalahari Anib Lodge

After breakfast you depart the Olive Grove Guesthouse and drive via Rehoboth to the Kalahari Anib Lodge in the Kalahari Desert, characterized by the red dunes and camelthorn trees. You will arrive at around noon and afterwards the rest of the day can be spent at your own leisure. The lodge also offers optional activities such as game and nature drives.

Day 3: Sesriem Canyon and Desert Homestead and Horsetrails

You depart the lodge and drive, via Mariental and Maltahöhe to the Desert Homestead Lodge. This route will take you via the Tsaris Pass and onto the gravel plains of the Namib Desert. Upon arrival at the lodge, the rest of the afternoon can be spent at your own leisure. (This gives you the opportunity to visit the Sesriem Canyon.)

Day 4: Namib Naukluft Park, Sossusvlei and Desert Homestead and Horsetrails

Today you can visit the Sossusvlei. From here you make your way to the 2×4 parking area, where you can make use of the 4×4 shuttle (not included, cost +-N$120.00 per person), which will take you the last few kilometres to the Sossusvlei. Alternatively you can walk the 4km to the vlei. See the sun rise in the massive dunes and enjoy the coolness of the morning to maybe climb up the “Big Daddy” Dune.

Day 5: Swakopmund and Swakopmund Guesthouse

Depart after breakfast and drive via Solitaire, Gaub Pass and Walvis Bay to Swakopmund. You will arrive in Swakopmund in the afternoon and check in at the Swakopmund Guesthouse, situated near the Swakopmund city centre and walking distance from the beach. The rest of the day can be spent relaxing or exploring this small coastal holiday town.

Day 6: Swakopmund Guesthouse

Today you have the opportunity to explore Swakopmund, Walvis Bay and the surrounding area. We suggest that you visit the Moonlandscape, Welwitscha Plains (please note that you need a permit for this, which is available at Namib i in Swakopmund) or take part in one of the many alternative activities such as:

  • Tandem Sky diving
  • Quad Biking
  • Sand Boarding
  • Ballooning
  • Paragliding
  • Seal & Dolphin Boat Cruise in Walvis Bay
  • Scenic flights

Day 7: Twyfelfontein and Twyfelfontein Country Lodge

Today you drive along the coastline via Henties Bay and Uis to the vast regions of the Damaraland. You pass Namibia’s highest Mountain the Brandberg, before checking in at your lodge in the heart of the Damaraland. This is most probably the most pristine area in Africa, with home to the Desert Elephant and Black Rhino. In the evening you have the opportunity to take part in a star gazing excursion and taking a closer look at the southern cross- and orion star formations (excursion at own expense).

Day 8: Vingerklip Lodge

After an early breakfast you will depart lodge and drive via Khorixas to the Vingerklip Lodge. On your way you will have the opportunity to stop over at the Petrified Forest (at own expense). After arrival at the lodge you can take part in a short or long walk to the Vingerklip, a 35m high sedimentary rock in the Ugab Valley.

Day 9: Etosha National Park and Taleni Etosha Village

Today, you will drive via Outjo to the Etosha National Park. The rest of the day can be spent at own leisure. You can either take part in one of the activities offered by the lodge or explore the animal kingdom of the Etosha Park on your own.

Day 10: Taleni Etosha Village

The entire day can be used to explore the park. Covering over 8,000 square miles, the park encompasses a vast salt pan. These conditions make the game viewing in Etosha so special and exclusive. You can visit various waterholes where you can relax and watch the animals as they drink and play. Etosha is famous for excellent game viewing and game, such as giraffe, impala, springbok, zebra and wildebeest can be seen in vast numbers.

Day 11: Mushara Bush Camp

Today you will make your way to the eastern side of the park. Here the dense stands of Mopane forests support a large variety of antelopes and predators such as leopards, while it offers a variety of migratory as well as non-migratory bird species safe cover and nesting sites. With a bit of luck you will also be able to spot some lions. In the late afternoon you will exit the park through the eastern gate. Just outside the gate you will find the Mushara Bush Camp.

Day 12: Waterberg Plateau and Waterberg Restcamp – Bernabe De La Bat

Travel via Tsumeb, Otavi and Otjiwarongo to the Waterberg Plateau Park in central Namibia. On your way to the lodge you can stop over at Lake Otjikoto and the Museum in Tsumeb. Arrival at the Waterberg Restcamp will be around noon and after check in the rest of the day is at your own leisure. There are numerous hiking trails and the rest camp also offers game drives onto the Plateau itself, where you can see rhino, buffalo, sable and roan antelope.

Day 13: Olive Grove Guesthouse

Today you depart the Waterberg Park and drive, via Okahandja, to Windhoek. In Okahandja you can stop over at the Kavango woodcarvers market and have a look around or buy some last souvenirs. Arrival in Windhoek at around noon and after check in you have some time to do some shopping in the city centre or take part on a guided city tour (not included in package).

Day 14: Departure

After breakfast at the guesthouse you will still have time to do some shopping before heading to the Hosea Kutako International Airport, where you check in for the onward or homeward flight.
