Day 1: Flight to Sossusvlei and Sossusvlei Lodge

This safari has daily departures based on a minimum of 1 guest travelling. Depart from Eros Airport in Windhoek with a Cessna 210 or Cessna Caravan to the Sossusvlei area. After about one hour scenic flight, you will be dropped off at the Sossusvlei Lodge in the Sossuvlei area. After a short transfer to the lodge, the rest of the day can be spent at your own leisure.

In the late afternoon you have the opportunity to take part on a sundowner drive on the Sossusvlei Lodge’s property. Drinks and snacks will be served, while the sun sets behind the massive dunes.

Alternatively, you can also fly from Hosea Kutako International Airport to Sossusvlei.

Day 2: Namib Naukluft Park, Sossusvlei and Sossusvlei Lodge

Today you will take part in one of the activities offered by the Adventure Centre, the Sossus Drive.

Early in the morning you will be taken to the Namib Naukluft Park to see the play of colours over the dunes at sunrise. You will travel in an all-terrain URI Gameviewer vehicle, custom-built in Namibia for the lodge with your own specially trained guide who will share all his knowledge of the area, the animals, the plant life and much more. Regular stops are made on the ±60 kilometre drive down to the vlei to gain information or take in the vistas.

At Dune 45 the more energetic have the opportunity to climb to the upper ridge of the world’s most photographed dune. Further along you can take a gradual 2,6 kilometre round-trip walk up to Dead Vlei. Spend time in Sossusvlei before returning to the lodge approximately 5½ hours later in time for a light lunch.

Day 3: Nature Drive at Sossusvlei Lodge

Another day spent at the Sossusvlei Lodge. Today you will take part in the nature drive, which takes you around the 44.000 hectare expanse that makes up the private reserve. You will experience a relaxing drive through pristine nature where oryx and springbok wander freely on the property. Spectacular photographs present themselves at every turn during this excursion of approximately 4½ hours.

Day 4: Flight back to Windhoek

In the early morning you’ll be transferred back to the landing strip for your flight back to Windhoek, over the Khomas Mountains.

Notes:

  • Flight prices are based on seat rates. It is not a private charter and there may be other guests on these flights.
  • Luggage should not exceed 20kg (incl. Hand luggage) per person and should be in soft bags (dimensions 25cm x 30cm x 60cm).
  • All passengers must supply us with their actual body weight due to strict security regulations concerning the total weight of the plane! Should the body weight exceed 100kg, passengers might be asked to book an extra seat, depending on the weight of the other passengers. It may also happen that the allowed maximum weight of luggage could be reduced.
